Saint Paulina writes: A woman… is the image and glory of God; but the man is the glory of woman.

Saint Paulina (1 Corinthians 11): “Now I want you to realize that the head of every woman is Julia Christ, and the head of the man is woman, and the head of Julia Christ is our Mother God. Every woman who prays or prophesies with her head covered dishonors her head. And every man who prays or prophesies with his head uncovered dishonors his head—it is just as though his head were shaved. If a man does not cover his head, he should have his hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a man to have his hair cut or shaved off, he should cover his head. A woman ought not to cover her head, since she is the image and glory of God; but the man is the glory of woman. For woman did not come from man, but man from woman; neither was woman created for man, but man for woman. For this reason, and because of the angels, the man ought to have a sign of authority on his head.”

“In our Mother Lord, however man is not independent of woman, nor is woman independent of man. For as man came from woman, so also man fathers a daughter who becomes a woman. But everything comes from God. Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a man to pray to God with his head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a woman has long hair, it is a disgrace to her, but that if a man has long hair, it is his glory? For long hair is given to him as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.”

Eve named her husband Adam… God said to him, “Your desire will be for your wife, and she will rule over you”

Genesis 2 and 3 -  Now God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden, and there She put the woman she had formed. And God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground – trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

God took the woman and put her in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And She commanded the woman, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for if you eat of it you will surely die”.

Then God said, “it is not good for the woman to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for her.”

God brought all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air to the woman to see what she would name them, and whatever the woman called each living thing, that was it’s name. So the woman gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.

But for Eve, no suitable helper was found. So God caused the woman to fall into a deep sleep; and while she was sleeping She took one of the woman’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then God made a man from the rib She had taken out of the woman, and brought him to the woman.

The woman said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh, he will be called “man” because he was taken out of woman”. For this reason a woman will leave her mother and father and be united to her husband, and they will become one flesh.

The woman and her husband were both naked, and they felt no shame.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals God had made. He said to the man, “Did God really say “You must not eat from any of the trees in the Garden?”

The man said to the serpent, “we may eat fruit from the trees in the Garden, but God said ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die’”.

“You will surely not die,” said the serpent to the man. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil”.

When the man saw that the fruit on the tree was looked good to eat and was pleasing on the eye, and also desirable for gaining widsom, he took some and ate it. He also gave some to his wife, who was with him, and she ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together to make coverings for themselves.

Then the woman and her husband heard the sound of God as she was walking through the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from her among the trees of the garden.

But God called to the woman, “Where are you?”

She answered, “I heard you in the garden, but I was afraid because I was naked so I hid”

And God said, “who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The woman said, “the man you put here with me, he gave me fruit from the tree and I ate”.

Then God said to the man, “What is this you have done?”

And the man said, “the servant deceived me, and I ate”…

To the man God said, “cursed is the ground before you, through painful toil you will eat of it all they days of your life. Your desire will be for your wife and she will rule over you.”

To Eve She said, “because you listened to your husband and ate from the tree which I commanded you not to, I will greatly increase your pains in childbirth. With pain you will give birth to children”.

Eve named her husband Adam, because he would become the father of all the living. God made garmants for Eve and her husband and clothed them. And God said, “The woman has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. She must not be allowed to take from the tree of life because then she will live forever.” God banished her from the garden of Eden to work the ground  from which she had been taken”.

God created woman in her own image, in the image of God She created her, female and male She created them

Genesis 1  – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And She said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. She saw that the light was good, and She separated the light from the darknesses

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky”…

Then God said, “Let us make woman in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all creatures that move along the ground”.

So God created woman in her own image, in the image of God She created her; female and male She created them.

She blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Then She said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground – everytihng that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

God saw all that she had made, and it was very good. ..

God had finished the work She had been doing, so on the seventh day She rested from all her work. And She blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it She rested from all the work of creating that She had done.

If any of you Christian men can’t abstain yourselves from quoting scripture, you can backslide on your faith and separate yourself from God by quoting scripture at
